Cancelled Fall Sessions

REGULAR SESSIONS Cancelled on:

At the present time, there are no cancelled sessions.

Jr. Development  Program

An introduction to Figure Skating.

Skaters will be introduced to jumps, spins, edges, footwork, dances and skills.  We try to maintain small classes to allow for individual attention.  Sessions are 1 hour of ice time and 30 minutes of Off-Ice Enrichment.  Enrichment includes flexibility training, stretching, body awareness and conditioning exercises.  Precise muscle area workouts are designed to enhance personal development in figure skating.

To be eligible for our Jr. Development Program, it is a requirement that the skater is assessed by one of our professional coaches.  Upon their recommendation, the skater may then register for this session.

If you're looking for a bargain and don't mind slightly used merchandise, why not ask the other skaters or skater's parents if they have any outgrown skates or dresses for sale.

Trout Lake Arena

Construction Updates

News Update:  September 6, 2008

The Trout Lake Arena has been closed for construction since Summer 2007, expected to re-open in Fall 2009.  At the present time, construction is on schedule.

We should be skating in our new "Olympic" size rink next Fall!  The Trout Lake Arena has been designated as a Figure Skating Practice Venue for the Olympic athletes.  Therefore, we will not have access to the new facility during the Winter Season of 2010.  Ice will be secured elsewhere during this period.

Once the Olympics are over, our new rink will be converted to NHL size to accommodate further seating.

For our skaters it will mean a bit of inconvenience, but in the end we will have a great new facility for our skaters to practice and train on.  The new arena will provide opportunities for our club that are not available at the present time.

We hope that you will be patient throughout this process and continue to support the club.

Ongoing information will be available  - you can check this web-site and you will be kept up to date during our Skating sessions at the rink.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

The Grandview Skating Club will continue to operate throughout the construction period.  We have secured ice at other rinks for our skaters.

Please check our Schedules for exact times and locations.
